On Monday, March 28, 2016, the 2016 White House Easter Egg Roll will take place on the South Lawn. The 138th annual event, with the theme “Let’s Celebrate!,” will see 35,000 guests participate in a variety of exciting activities, like a yoga garden, egg dying, story time, dance party in addition to the traditional egg roll. And, for the first time, this year’s event will also include the White House Fun Run.
The White House Easter Egg Roll is one of the Washington, DC area’s enduring, venerable traditions, and if you want a chance to attend you have to act now.
You have to have a ticket to enter since entry on the White House grounds is secure and tickets are not handed out on site. While a fraction of tickets are available to students in the Washington DC region and to military families, most of the White House Easter Egg Roll tickets are available through a lottery. Fill out your White House Easter Egg Roll lottery application at the recreation.org lottery website. There are multiple time slots available from early morning through early evening and the lottery ends on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 12pm.
According to the recreation.org lottery website, the lottery results will be posted by Thursday, February 25, 2016.
