Arts Alive at GMU Manassas
ARTS Alive is Prince William County’s annual arts festival held at the Hylton Performing Arts Center, the crown jewel of Northern Virginia performance spaces. The local showcase is presented by Prince William County Arts Council and features all areas of the arts: dance, theater, literary and visual arts. Performances running indoors and outdoors.

Interactive splash fountain re-opens
It’s baaaaack! Kids love running around in this fun play space that was the go to hot spot for area kiddies last year. Music provided by Milkshake’s Trio, the sheriff’s department will hand out child ID cards, giveaways and more. This is certain to be one of the most fun things to do in Northern VA this weekend!

Virginia Gold Cup
North Rail, South Rail, Members Hill…if these terms mean something to you, then you’ve probably attended Virginia Gold Cup. The annual gathering of 50,000 people is an all day affair of steeplechase racing, terrier races, shopping, and contests (hat & tailgate). Children under 12 admitted free. Ticket sales for the Virginia Gold Cup Races are now closed at the website and the Gold Cup office, but you may be able to secure tickets at your local Harris Teeter

Kentucky Derby viewing at Firebirds Grill
If you can’t make it out to the Rails of the Plains for Gold Cup, catch the Kentucky Derby. While we are far from Kentucky, Firebirds at the Promenade at Virginia Gateway is going to have all the action (and mint juleps, of course) from the “fastest two minutes in sports” on Saturday morning starting at 11am.

The Minnieville Animal Hospital has a variety of services at reduced prices during the open house which serves as a fundraiser for animals in need of a home. Get a pedicure for your pup and know you are raising money for a good cause, the Prince William Humane Society.
