During St. Patrick’s Day, the Old Brogue commemorates its anniversary with a taste of Irish music and cuisine and a fun outdoor party. The pub serves traditional Irish beer and whiskey and has live bands at lunch and dinner.

Manassas

A community parade with Irish dance groups takes place in Manassas. Enjoy music with Washington Irish Pipe and Drum, the Northern Virginia Firefighters Emerald Society Pipe and Drum, the Marine Corps, the Fairfax County Sheriff’s and its Coalition Pipe and Drum, and other organizations and troupes. The parade is a free way to spend St. Patrick’s Day with the whole family.

Bluemont Shamrock

The annual Bluemont Shamrock is a 5K or 10K run along Bluemont’s scenic rural roads. Pre-registered runners earn a special-edition shirt, bib, bronze star, and pelleted digital certificate. There is also prize money for four age groups.

When you finish your run, you can celebrate your accomplishment and take in the scenery at Dirt Farm Brewery.

Murphy’s Grand Irish Pub, Alexandria

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with Irish musicians at Murphy’s Grand Irish Pub in Alexandria. The St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Alexandria is on the first Saturday in March, and it sets off two weeks of inspired street parties. Typically, the fun consists of Irish Trivia, a glass of beer challenge, and “St. “Practice Day” celebrations.
